Prehistoric Party!

So as I mentioned in my last post, I'm planning Kaiden's first birthday party on July 24th (my birthday). Yes our birthdays are very close, his actual birthday is on the 20th, which I guess means mine will be forgotten about! Anyways, I'm really quite late on the planning phase, since we were back and forth on if we were going to have one here or in NY. So now here I am scrambling to come up with an awesome Dinosaur party for my little guy. I haven't even done invitations yet and we're less than a month away people! I've been looking for some really cute and colorful dino stuff and found a little inspiration, below. This has definitely got the ball rolling, so now I'm officially in party mode!

I want it all!

Ok it's that time again, CHA season is coming up, and of course all the companies are starting to tease us with their sneak peeks. Well I'll tell you what, it's definitely working on me! I've always been a big fan of Pink Paislee, in fact their one of my favorite companies. I would buy every line from them if I could, and I would surely buy their newest ones!! I love them all, and can't wait to see them in the stores!

This is a first!

This is the first time I've ever followed a sketch! I've seen the beautiful work Beatriz does with Liz Qualman's sketches and was inspired by a recent sketch. I've had these beach papers from Graphic 45 sitting around, and thought they would be perfect for this layout.

This is liz's sketch from June 13th
This is my take on it! This layout came together so quickly. I used a Tim holtz mask and blue Glimmermist along with a few papers from the On The Boardwalk collection from Graphic 45. I used 2 inch scalloped circles under my photos. I even used up a bunch of my old supplies, including dew drops, a Making Memories brad I've had for at least 4 years, lol, and a Deluxe Designs laser diecut, do you guys remember them?! I also used an American Crafts Flair button, and thickers alphabet letters. Thanks for looking!

First Haircut

Wow, seriously, I can't believe June just started and it's almost over already! I've been quite busy just enjoying my kids and the summer. It's crazy how fast time is flying, I swear. I've also been busy getting ready to plan my son's first birthday. I can't even comprehend that! We're doing a dinosaur theme, and I'm finding lots of really fun and cute ideas. I must say I'm excited, even though I wasn't sure how I was going to pull off the theme. I'll be showing the process as I go. In the meantime, this is a layout I did on Jenny's first haircut. Finally, after four years, her daddy agreed to a trim, lol.

Beach Babes

Hey all, I hope you guys are having a great week so far. Just one more day til the weekend! I've been taking it easy, just trying to get into a summer routine, so I can be more productive with my time. I guess if we can't have more hours in the day, we might as well make the most of the 24 we have. I took some me time and did this layout on Monday after having a really stressful mornig. It always makes me feel good when I scrap, because it's my release and I play catch up with my photos. I, like the rest of you I'm sure, always buy papers with the intentions of eventually using them. I actually got to this Fancy Pants line, before it became old, lol! Well I hope you all have a great weekend, I'm hoping to have a wonderful one with my husband and dad this Sunday.

Monday, Monday

Monday, the beginning, what a day! So today was Jen's first day of summer camp, and we were all so excited for her to get back to school, since she was home for three days last week. Today was also supposed to be the day we started getting to school an hour earlier also, since she would be swimming at 8:30 every morning, for the summer. Yeah, that was the plan, then at 7:05 after I turned off the alarm and was trying to sneak in a few more minutes of precious sleep, my door opens, and a crying voice says "mommy, my ear hurts," and there went all our plans for this Monday morning. So instead of getting to school at 8:30, she made it for 11:30, after a detour to the doctor's office. So three hours, and an ear infection later, here's hoping tomorrow will be a more "routine" morning. I hope you all are having a great Monday!

A quick Valentine's page I did a few weeks back.

It must be summer!

Yes it really must be summer around here, because the weather is unbearable, and we seem to always be on the go! I can't remember the last time we were actually home for the entire day! We're always headed somewhere, whether to a birthday party, play date, hanging out with friends and family, errands, and my favorite, the beach. While it's a bit tiring, I must say I am enjoying spending so much time with my family, and seeing the kids having fun in the water and what not. For the first time since we've lived in South Florida, we are going to the beach on a regular basis, why we didn't before, is beyond me. Besides everything else going on, end of school activities have been keeping us busy as well. Last Friday was Jenny's ballet show. The kids were all so cute in their tutus, dancing for their parents, we had a great time. She'll be continuing ballet classes over the summer, along with swimming lessons, finally. I've been meaning to sign her up since she was two, but somehow it never happened. Since I can't swim, I hope that she will be able to, so she will be able to at least save herself, lol. I can't wait to see her swim! I'll definitely be posting pics here. I hope everyone is enjoying their summers as well. Hopefully, I'll make some time to keep this updated. I've been dying to scrap lately, and am hoping to get a layout in this weekend. Until next time, take care!
