Let the countdown begin...

So here we are eleven days left, and I could not be crazier. Every year I tell myself I’ll start early on everything, but noo, I never do. WHY!!! The list is long as usual. There’s still more presents to be bought and wrapped, gingerbread house to be made, cookies to be baked, Cards to be made and mailed, ( yes I know I’m crazy trying to do that now!) and pictures to be taken. I originally planned on going to the studio and using our portraits for the cards, but I haven’t even made our appointment yet! So last night I attempted to take pictures of the kids in front of our tree. Well besides them both being tired and cranky, I had my camera on the wrong setting and also took the pictures horizontal instead of vertical. Well I thought I could fix that, but it appears I can’t. Unless, someone out there knows how to? I tried my hardest and couldn’t. So if you do, please let me know how. So anyways, tonight will be take two, on the pictures. And hopefully by some Christmas miracle my cards will be out tomorrow and Everyone on my list will get one this year! Here’s my progress so far. Today I feel like I made a dent. I went shopping, starting wrapping, and Tonite I’m finishing up the assembly on the cards. Well I also managed to make a Christmas countdown, pictured, before the beginning of December! I’ve had these Making Memories blocks for years now, and saw the idea somewhere in blogland, and was so inspired. I finished it up in no time! Sadly that’s the only creative thing I’ve done, besides my cards since November. Maybe after the holiday I’ll be able to get back to being creative. But who am I kidding, I’ll have to start planning Jenny’s 4th birthday party! Oh well, I hope you all are enjoying your holiday season so far, and hopefully getting through your to-do’s as well. Thanks for still stopping by, If there’s anyone still reading !

It's beginning to look a lot like

Christmas! Yay!! My first Christmas project for the season. It also happens to be my first class that I will be teaching in over a year. To be quite honest, I don't remember the lsat time I taught a class. I was stuck in a rut for the longest, and then I was pregnant, and I never scrapped then, and now, I'm creating away. I've had my eye on the new Pink Paislee products, since CHA. I really just love everything they do. I picked up the new Mistletoe & Co. line at The Paper Niche, and created this two page layout that I will be teaching there on:
Tuesday December 8th
6pm-8pm
Cost: $20
I'm really excited to teach again, and can't wait until my class. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do, here it is:

Gotta get better

at this blogging stuff. I know, I know, i always say that, but really i want to. There's always so much I want to share, but it just seems like there's not enough time in the day. Lately things have gotten a little more hectic around here. I'm not sure if it's because Kaiden's napping less, or that I went back to work part-time, or is it that I'm just being lazy. Maybe it's a combination of it all, but I have a feeling it's mostly the last reason! I'm so sad that the weeks are just flying by. Before we know it Christmas will be here. I haven't even printed or started to scrap my Halloween pics like I wanted to. I guess I should stop dwelling on the things I haven't done and start doing something about it. On another note, I have started my Christmas shopping! Lol, I guess that's the one thing I do best. The list is extra long this year, as we are going away, and we will be seeing lots of family we haven't seen in a while. I'm really excited to be going, but sad to not be home for Christmas. I absoluteluy love being home in my way too decorated house! I definitely won't let this holiday pass me by. I have to start on my countdown calendar, holiday portraits, christmas cards, party invites, and the list goes on. This year I plan on making some cute projets to display around the house, but we'll see how that goes! In the meantime I did make a new page. We recently took family portraits, and I used this black and white photo of me and Jen, which I absolutely love.

Wishing...

that I had more time in the day, so I can do the things I want to do. But for now, I'll settle for being a full-time mommy, and part-time me. I wish I had the time to have decorated for halloween, but it almost seems pointless now. I love seeing all the spooky and fun stuff out there. It puts a smile on my face and makes me ever so sad since Jenny would have loved to see the house all decorated. Next year for sure. Since I have been in the spooky mood lately, I'm going to spend the next few days scrapping my Halloween stuff. I'm headed to The Paper Niche to pick up some new goodies to scrap about three years worth! Ok I'm not setting any records or anything, I just hope to have at least one layout from every year completed. In the mean time I did get a chance to do a couple of new pages...

This is a picture from my 27th birthday. Just 4 days after I had Kaiden and I became a mommy of two.

Did this one for Shane, because he is such a great husband and father. He treats both of us like princesses, well me mostly like the Queen!

Wow

I can't believe how fast this year is flying by already! Today is the first day of fall, which just means the holidays are right around the corner. Before we know it, it will be 2010.2009 just flew by didn't it? But what a year it's been for me. It's been a year filled with good and bad for me. But the best part of this year was giving birth to my sweetie pie Kaiden. My goodness I can't believe my little guy is two months old already. I'm enjoying him so much, but I'm so sad to see how fast he's growing. I spend my days watching him in complete amazement at what a wonderful miracle he is. I'm so blessed, and so thankful.
It's funny how I thought I would have all this time to do so much, now that I'm home but that is so not the case! I thought I would be able to scrap more, blog more, clean more, cook more, etc. But between drop off and pick up, and taking care of the little one, and errands and appointments, my days are over before I know it. For now I can only hope that it will all get easier and more manageable in the near future. Well I guess that's it for now, I wish I had more to post but hopefully on the next one! I hope everyone had a great summer and is getting ready for the fall season. I can't wait until the weather cools down some. I look forward to cool mornings and breezy afternoons. Until then, thanks for stopping by.

Feelin' Scrappy...

I finally caught the creative bug. My second page this week!. I'm on a roll, let's hope I can keep it up. Did this one using some October Afternoon papers I've had for some time now. It's simple but it's gonna have to be if I ever wanna get caught up. I felt these pictures were perfect for the papers. This was the first time we ever let her play in the grass. We were at my uncle's house in upstate New York and he let her down on the grass. Before I could run to pick her up, Shane said let her play, so we just watched as she has a ball! The grass was so soft, much different from the grass down here. I'll never forget how much she loved it! Well thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I'll be keeping up with my scrapping and blogging.

Inspired

Finally after months of not scrapping, I've created a layout! I was really inspired by the Traveler line from My Little Yellow Bicycle. I was waiting for it to come in and I picked it up a couple of weeks ago at The Paper Niche. This is the first layout I've done since having the baby. I did this layout on Me and Shane since there's hardly any pages of just us in my scrapbooks. This photo was taken last year and has been siiting on my fridge ever since. I've been wanting to scrap it for some time now, and these papers just seemed right for it. I'm hoping to squeeze a few more layouts out of these beautiful papers. Thanks for stopping by!

My little guy!

Hey all, sorry it's been so long. I'm sure most of you know what it's like having a newborn around, as well as an active three year old! I'm not able to get much of anything done around here. My little one, Kaiden Khaleed Baksh was born on July 20th,weighing in at 6lbs 7ozs, and 20 inches long. He is just over a month old, and is such a sweetie pie. While there is plenty of crying, eating, pooping and lots of sleepless nights, I am so happy to be his mommy. It's definitely been tough getting used to having two kids now, but I'm slowly getting adjusted. Jenny has been a great big sister, so helpful and loving to him, sometimes too much! She still has her moments, but it's to be expected, she's a three year old. In the beginning it was much more difficult, but over the past few weeks it's gotten much easier. I feel so blessed to have two beautiful and healthy kids with a loving and supportive family. Too often we take for granted such small things, but lately I've become more aware of how truly lucky I am to have them. There are so many parents out there whose children are handicapped and so many children who have abusive or even no parents at all. When you know someone in a situation like that, it really reminds you of how lucky and blessed you really are. Anyways, I didn't mean to ramble on and on.

Monday was Jenny's first day of the new school year. I can't believe she's on her second year of school already. I feels like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms like I do with Kaiden. She's getting so big already, it's hard to believe. Here are a few pics from today. It's so funny that just twelve months ago I took identical pics of her by herself, and now she has a little brother! Last year it was heartwrenching for me to send her off to school since it was her first time. However this year was filled with joy and excitement for her and me. I'm so happy she loves school. She loves her teeachers and her friends, it's such a big part of her world, and it makes me happy when I hear her talk about it. I'm very excited about her learning so much more this year. She will actually start writing this year! I know, I'm such a dork, but I'm so happy that she has learned so much and is continuing to learn so much more. I'm sure this year will be a great one for her.
Well let's see if I can keep up this blogging stuff, and maybe even start scrapping again! Thanks for stopping by.

My latest Addiction!

Just stopping by to share a little something that makes me soooo happy! Sorry I don't have too much else to post at the moment...be back soon.

Lately, more often than not during the week, I find myself waiting in the drive thru line here. I am the kind of person who has to have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, but it's usually a hot cup at home. But I recently discovered a new love for cold coffee. Especially with the super hot weather lately, it's been nice to have a cold refreshing treat. I've fallen in love with the Coffee Coolatta from Dunkin Donuts! I've replaced my Pepsi with the Coolatta as my daily allowance of caffeine per day. If you guys haven't tried it yet, you don't know what you're missing out on...absolutely awesome. It's a little bit of heaven for your tastebuds.

4th of July happenings

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great Fourth. We had a wonderful day. I spent the morning doing some errands, then we had lunch with my folks, and we spent the evening with our cousins. We had a barbecue and then enjoyed some fireworks, and hung out til 3 am! I am finally just getting off the couch after lazing around for the entire morning. Jenny spent some time in the pool with my dad at my parents house. I dipped my feet in and was very tempted to go for a splash ( I didn't say swim because I don't know how to!...and I refuse to learn). I forgot how fun the pool is, I really need to take advantage of the fact that my parents have one. We rarely ever use that thing. Here are a few pics for our wonderful day.

Oh I almost forgot, I went to my checkup on Thursday and I decided to get induced on the 20th of this month. That's just 15 days away. I can't believe it's here already, ok who am I kidding, FINALLY!!!! My original due date was the 27th, but since Shane has to go out of town on the 30th for work I wanted to make sure he would be here for the birth and to help me out for the first week or so. I'm happy to know just what to expect and not have to wonder where I will be when I go into labor, or any other uncertain details. This way it's planned and I know just what will be happening...unless he decides to come sooner of course!

Finally, it's good to be back!

Well I can't believe how time flies. It's already been a whole month since I've last posted. Things have been kind of rough lately. Just at the beginning of my summer, I mean literally the last day of work for me, my aunt suddenly passed away. On June 3rd, she died suddenly of a massive heart attack. She was only 52, it was so sudden and such a major shock to our family. So at 33 weeks pregnant I boarded a plane and headed to New York for her funeral. It was all so surreal to me. I still can't believe she's not here anymore. It's been really hard on my mom as well. I haven't felt like doing much of anything since, so I guess that's why I haven't posted. Well as with all things, I'm sure time will heal. For right now, I try not to think about it too much.
I've been trying to concentrate on other things, like preparing for a little one who will be here in four weeks or less! I have just begun packing for the hospital, and haven't even started preparing the house yet. In the mean time, Jenny is home for the summer and I've been trying my best to entertain her, which is not easy, let me just say! Three year olds have a very short attention span, therefore she gets bored so quickly.
I've been also meaning to share pictures from my surprise baby shower that Tammy and Rhonda from the Paper Niche threw for me. It was the weekend right before my aunt passed...so that's why I haven't shared until now. It was such a wonderful surprise, totally unexpected and very much appreciated. It ended up being my only shower since I cancelled my family shower because I didn't want to celebrate so soon after my aunt passed. Anyways, it was at The Cheesecake Factory at Sawgrass Mills. Here are some of the pictures.

I've also been scrapping a little...ok very little. I did one layout using the new October Afternoon papers I picked up from The Paper Niche. I'm so loving that stuff. I have another layout in the works, that I will share as soon as I finish it! Since I've been in baby mode, I decided to do this layout of Jenny when she had just arrived. These pictures are from her first few days. It's hard to believe how tiny she was. Sometimes you forget about the little things like this.

Just stopping by

Well I planned on actually doing a real post, but I'm absolutely pooped from a long weekend of fun and relaxation. It's funny how after spending the entire day lazing around today, I am even more tired. Oh well we had a great weekend despite the rain, and I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend as well. Be back soon.

Happy Mother's Day

Wow, has it really been almost a month since I've posted. Holy cow, I've got to get better at this. Anywhoo, I wanted to wish all of the wonderful moms out there a Happy Mother's Day. Hope you all had a fabulous day, spending it with your kids and loved ones. I had a great day, spent my third mom's day with my beautiful daughter and loving husband. Enjoying motherhood so much, can't wait to do it again in a few months. Kids have a way of teaching us so much about ourselves. I found a person I didn't know I could be because of her. She makes me look forward to the future, and excited about it, no matter how old I'll be, how much we'll go through etc.etc. It's worth it, as long as I have her, soon to be them. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. Motherhood is such a gift that's to be treasured, even on the bad days, because not everyone gets a chance at it. I'm so thankful for mine.
Well hopefully be back soon, with some new work to show.

A few layouts to share!

Can you believe it? I actually scrapbooked! I was feeling a little scrappy on Saturday and created these two layouts. I also did a quick little Easter card for Jenny on Sunday morning. I love that she likes this stuff too. When we gave it to her, she said "for me mommy? wow, it's so beautiful!" She's so sweet and humble that way. We hadn't even given her, her Easter basket yet, but she appreciated that card so much. I love that about her.
I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. We had a blast. We colored eggs in the morning, and had an egg hunt for Jen at my parent's house that evening. It was so nice to be home with my family for a whole weekend. Wish we had more of those. Well hopefully I'll post again soon and have more layouts to share. I'm trying to get my groove back, we'll see.

I love spring!

I don't know about you but I have been loving this weather! It's been beautiful here, and ever since the time changed, it's even better! I love the long hours of daylight, beautiful sunny and breezy days, and coming home while it's still bright. On Monday my mom and I bought some plants and she planted a garden in my backyard. No, I'm not an outdoor person, so I don't garden, but I was excited about having one. We, being she, planted strawberries, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, peppers, a lime tree and a few herbs. I also bought this beautiful climbing rose tree for my front entrance. I love coming home and seeing the bright blooms, just another reminder that spring is here.

I was even in the mood to scrapbook, and scrapped this page of Jenny over the weekend. I was inspired by her pictures outside at the park. She loves going to the park, and now's the perfect time to enjoy many more trips there. Ahh, spring how I love thee!
